2 poemas de Charles Olson

Exaltações

Ela que teve mais da metade de seu corpo queimado
                                                                            escapou da morte
Observando
que há cinco figuras sólidas, o Mestre
(ou como relata Aetius, no Placita)
concluiu que
a Esfera do Universo ergue-se
do dodecaedro

de onde Alexandre
aparecendo em um sonho para Antiochus
mostrou-lhe
E no dia seguinte, o inimigo (os gálatas)
escapou diante disso,
antes da canção, isto é

The praises

She who was burned more than half her body
                                                           skipped  out of death
Observing
That there are five solid figures, the Master
(or so Aetius reports, in the Placita)
concluded that
the Sphere of the Universe arose from
the dodecahedron
whence Alexander

appearing in a dream to Antiochus
show him
And on the morrow, the enemy (the Galates)
ran before it,
before the sing,  that is

Um peixe é a flor da água

Você que segue Henry Thoreau
cuidado

Evite largar a vida num canto
e achar de acuá-la
Ela escapará de fino como qualquer moça

Homens curiosamente fastiosos
comem carne de rato-almiscarado

A fish is the flower of water

You who followed Henry Thoreau
beware

Forbear to drive life into a corner
and think to trap her
She will slip way like any girl

Men curiously without appetite
want wild muskrat meat
